Free and open-source React menu bar components built for modern applications and websites. These menubars are built using React Aria and styled with Tailwind CSS.
Menubar is built on React Aria's Toolbar, so the arrow keys move focus between the top-level menus (File, Edit, View, …) with a roving tabindex. Once a menu is open, Menu itself handles Up/Down/Enter/Escape and submenu navigation exactly as Dropdown does.
Only once a menu is already open — hovering File before anything is open does nothing, matching a native application menu bar or a browser's own menu. Once File is open, hovering Edit switches straight to it without a click.
Wrap them in a Menubar.Section with selectionMode="multiple" (checkboxes) or "single" (radios), and set each Menubar.Item's selectionIndicator to "checkbox" or "radio" — the same API Dropdown uses.
Wrap a Menubar.Item (the trigger) and a Dropdown.Popover containing a plain Dropdown.Menu in React Aria's SubmenuTrigger, re-exported as Menubar.SubmenuTrigger — identical to how Dropdown nests its own submenus.
Pass addon to Menubar.Item, e.g. <Menubar.Item addon="⌘S">Save</Menubar.Item>.
Yes — pass isDisabled to Menubar.Menu. Its trigger renders disabled and dimmed, and hovering or pressing it does nothing.
